Elena Badino

Building Physics Consultant

Elena Badino has a background in architecture and holds a PhD in Energetics from Politecnico di Torino.

During her studies, Elena joined a university exchange program at Universidade de Brasília, and spent a visiting period at Henning Larsen studio in Copenhagen, to gain practical experience in performance-based design.

She joined GET in 2024 as a Building Physics Consultant. From 2018 to 2024 Elena worked as a researcher in the TEBE research group of the Department of Energy of Politecnico di Torino, dealing with urban microclimate, applied acoustics, and the thermal performance of advanced building envelope components. Her research focused mainly on outdoor urban spaces, and spanned from the material level to the urban microscale, using field measurements and performance simulations. She is a qualified environmental acoustics technician and was awarded the Robert Bradford Newman medal for merit in architectural acoustics for her thesis.

She authored several scientific articles and conference contributions.

Elena loves approaching her work with a curious mindset and framing design issues from multiple perspectives.

She hopes her work can help create architectural and urban spaces where people feel more connected and comfortable, contributing to individual well-being and a stronger sense of community.
