Ilaria Colombo graduated with honors in architecture from the Università Mediterranea of Reggio Calabria. She developed a great interest in sustainability issues, after her studies.
She attended SOS School of Sustainability founded by the architect Mario Cucinella. During this experience, she learned how to integrate education, research, and practice and to combine the study of sustainable theory with real project work experiences. With a holistic comprehension of sustainability practices, she had the chance to explore the application of sustainable architecture from urban to product scale, ranging from developing to advanced communities.
This experience allowed her to work in related fields, such as urban regeneration for the city of Bologna and product research for the ceramic industry.
She also delved into building energy issues and after that, approached environmental certifications, which captured her main interest.
Ilaria joined GET in September 2024, hoping to grow as a sustainability professional. She’s firmly convinced of the importance of building a culture based on responsible actions, where sustainable design methods and processes can be the tools that turn sustainable practices into new habits.
