Pattern Group opened the construction site of its new green headquarters last October, an event attended by leading local authorities and project partners.
Pattern Group is an Italian company in luxury fashion engineering and production; three values are at the core of the group’s identity:
- ESG principles;
- Human knowledge;
- Technology & innovation.
The company wanted to embody these values within the design and construction of its new headquarters. GET was chosen by Pattern S.p.A. as the consultancy firm in charge of the sustainability aspects, together with the design team (SMA Progetti, EQ Ingegneria, and Tekinda).
To fulfill the high standards of sustainability set by the company, GET project managers suggested pursuing LEED Certification by integrating sustainable best practices into the design and construction.
New Green Headquarters Project
Pattern Group’s new headquarters is set in Collegno (TO) and will be the house of the Italian Hub for Luxury Fashion Engineering and Production bringing together sustainability and technology.
The project benefits from Intesa Sanpaolo’s financial support and its development was assigned to Secap S.p.a. The site -around 22,000 sqm- will include offices, production and logistics workspaces, warehouses, and large accessible external areas. It will be an engineering, development, prototyping, and production center for some of the most prestigious fashion brands.
Pattern Group has obtained in 2024 SA8000 for all its companies and ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 covering Environmental Management and Occupational Health and Safety systems for more than half of its plants. Furthermore, its ESG Plan set two main goals: full decarbonization by 2027 and implementing a circular economy approach to waste management. Through its new hub, the company strives to strengthen its commitment. Adoption of LEED Certification emphasizes the “E” of ESG -Environmental, Social, and Governance- values. The rating system provides a framework that focuses on several aspects of sustainability. Asset decarbonization in its lifespan is one of the key factors considered; it will be achieved by minimizing the energy demand of the building, installing energy-efficient HVAC systems, maximizing renewable energy production, and using sustainable and low-carbon building technologies. Moreover, the project will improve indoor environmental quality to enhance the health and well-being of future occupants.
Accordingly, the implemented sustainability strategy for the new headquarters will align with EU taxonomy requirements and will positively impact and support the company’s ESG targets.
GET’s contribution to the project
GET is supporting the project through its multidisciplinary team, providing consultancy on sustainability, LEED management, energy and building physics analysis, LCA analysis, and commissioning activity.
GET adopted an integrative approach to include sustainable practices in strategy development, project optimization, and site monitoring. Joining coordination meetings to define project sustainability goals and strategies, we succeeded in contributing to the Client’s specific requirements by optimizing the expected building performance and outcomes.
The two fundamental elements to obtain these results are: collaboration and high expertise. Elia Lupo, GET Sustainability Consultant, is part of the project team and about the new green headquarters stated: “It is fascinating to work in a project related to a niche market concerning a high-level engineering and production asset. The hub includes areas with different uses – offices, warehouses, production, …- this allowed me to address how sustainability aspects can impact different assets within the same project.”
Coordinating various stakeholders is crucial to balancing the certification requirements with the enterprise’s needs for successful project development. GET, through its consultancy services, fulfills this role by accompanying Client requests towards effective and efficient sustainability results.
