John Boecker
AIA, LEED® Fellow
John Boecker serves as a founding partner in 7group, an internationally recognized multi-disciplinary consulting firm focused on integrative process and regenerative development. As an architect, his practice has focused exclusively on sustainability since 1996. Along with his 7group partners and Bill Reed, he co-authored The Integrative Design Guide to Green Building, a seminal book published by Wiley in 2009.
He served as Project Architect for two of the first 15 LEED certified projects worldwide and as the primary LEED/integrative design Consultant on over 100 additional LEED and Living Building Challenge projects in eight countries.
7group’s work focuses on manifesting regenerative thinking through design and development of the built environment and education. The firm seeks to build their clients’ capacity to re-member our participatory/reciprocal role as humans nested in larger Living Systems (aka, “nature”), so that every project serves as an instrument for evolving the vitality and viability of each particular place we work. 7group sees their vocation as developing transformational interrelationships through regenerative frameworks, gratitude, and story-telling.
John has taught Architectural Design and sustainability/regenerative courses/lectures at Carnegie Mellon, University of Pennsylvania, Harrisburg Area Community College, Harvard, and Princeton. As a highly sought keynote speaker, John has facilitated workshops on integrative design and regenerative development in 35 states and 14 countries.
